After four long years, the FIFA World Cup is finally back! Taking place this month in Qatar, the 2022 World Cup is the most celebrated football event as national teams compete to win the ultimate title: world champions of football! While this is an exciting time for football fans, some people do not get the hype of it.
For non-football fans, this would be just another month of November that will pass. But you are seriously missing out on all the fun! Do not worry though, because we are going to help you enjoy the FIFA World Cup for a month even if you are new to this.
1. Support a player
First off, find a player that you think you would like. The obvious ones would be two of the best players in the world – Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi – so you can start with them too. Or go over the star players for each country and select your favourite. It could be because he looks handsome or because he plays well, you have to start somewhere anyway.
2. Buy a jersey

After you have picked your favourite player, now it is time to get the jersey of his national team. There are 32 teams and 64 jerseys to choose from its home and away kits with an additional third option. If you ask us, our favourite is Denmark’s all-black jersey which not only looks stylish but is also a silent protest towards the host nation’s questionable human rights record. Style and meaning? We are all for it.
3. Be with the crowd

Most importantly though, be with the crowd of football fans. Feel the lively atmosphere when fans watch football at the nearby mamak. Even if you do not understand at first, you will eventually know what is going on in the match. It is just 11 people kicking a ball toward the opponent’s goal. How hard can that be?
