David Corenswet takes on the role of Clark Kent / Superman, with the story that centers on Superman’s journey to find balance between his Kryptonian origins and his life with his human adoptive family. Superman (2025) set to release in July 2025, and currently playing at most theaters in Malaysia and Indonesia. 

2. Sovereign

Sovereign is a 2025 American action crime thriller directed and written by Christian Swegal. The film features a cast that includes Nick Offerman, Jacob Tremblay, Thomas Mann, Nancy Travis, Martha Plimpton, and Dennis Quaid. Inspired by the real-life events of the 2010 West Memphis police shootings. Sovereign is set for release on July 11, 2025.

3. Jurassic World: Rebirth

The next movie recommendation for you is the newest Jurassic World.  Jurassic World: Rebirth is the continuation of the Jurassic World franchise, set after the events of Dominion. Humans now coexist with dinosaurs in remote tropical regions. Scarlett Johansson plays Zora Bennett, an elite agent assigned to secure a crucial DNA sample from the island that once housed the Jurassic Park facility. Jurassic World: Rebirth is set for release on July 02, 2025. 

4. I Know What You Did Last Summer

I Know What You Did Last Summer is an upcoming American slasher film directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson. This horror film is a modern remake of the legendary 1997 classic. Five teenagers try to cover up a past incident, but a mysterious terror begins to haunt them one by one. Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. reprise their iconic roles from the original version. Release date for I Know What You Did Last Summer will be on July 18, 2025.

5. The Fantastic Four: First Step

Another movie recommendation is The Fantastic Four: First Step. Since Marvel brings its First Family back to the big screen with a retro-futuristic twist set in the 1960s. Pedro Pascal stars as Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic), leading the team as they face off against the threats of Silver Surfer and Galactus. Premieres on July 25, 2025.

6. Ghost Train

The Korean horror movie “Ghost Train (2025)” depicts Da Kyung, a horror YouTuber hungry for attention, delves into the eerie mysteries of Gwanglim Station, a place plagued by a string of unexplained disappearances. 

Scheduled to be released on July 9, 2025, in South Korea and several international markets. It will also be available for streaming on various platforms after its theatrical run. The movie is set to release on July 10, 2025 including Malaysia.

7. BTS MAP OF THE SOUL ON:E

Starting from BTS MAP OF THE SOUL ON:E, SEVENTEEN WORLD TOUR [BE THE SUN], TOMORROW X TOGETHER WORLD TOUR [ACT : SWEET MIRAGE], ENHYPEN WORLD TOUR [FATE], to HYBE CINEMA NORAEBANG.

New Movie and Drama Release This Month on Streaming Platforms

There are new releases of several movies and dramas on various streaming platform. This month, Netflix will relase some notable titles include The Old Guard 2, KPop Demon Hunters, and Trainwreck: The Cult of American Apparel. Additionally, The Sandman is a new addition, and there are new episodes of Tour de France: Unchained. For those interested in international cinema, Attack on London: Hunting The 7/7 Bombers is also available.

While Amazon Prime Video is releasing “Heads of State”, an action comedy. Additionally, “Dexter: Resurrection” (season 1) will also be released weekly on Showtime via streaming, and “Foundation” (season 3) is coming to Apple TV+ with weekly episodes.
