NCT’s Jaehyun has officially begun his military service!
18 to 21 months military service is compulsory in South Korea for physically fit men aged between 18 and 35.
Before leaving, Jaehyun grabbed the chance to share a heartfelt post on Instagram for his fans and followers. On November 3, the day before his enlistment, he dropped a couple of snaps of himself including a polaroid of himself flaunting his brand-new buzz cut.
NCT Jaehyun also posted a mirror selfie taken at the salon, along with a playful shot of his freshly cut hair spelling out the word “enlistment” on the salon floor.
Plus, Jaehyun sentimentally wrote in his caption that is translated to, “Reminiscing about our past memories together, while looking forward to our future journey together”.
Another image posted on NCT’s official X account shows his fellow members playfully posing around his shaved head, that seemed to make the fans chuckled while feeling emotional.
All About Jaehyun
Jaehyun is part of SM Entertainment’s South Korean boy group, NCT, debuted in 2016, where he shines as a lead dancer, main vocalist, and lead rapper in the subunits; NCT U and NCT 127.
Jaehyun is the second member of NCT to enlist after Taeyong.

Random fact— do you know that Jaehyun is actually fluent in English? As young as 5, Jaehyun moved to USA with his parents and lived there for 4-5 years thus went by the English name; Jay Jeong. He then changed his name from Jung JAEHYUN to Jung Yoon Oh when he came back to South Korea thus being reason why he is fluent in both English and Korean.
Apparently, Jaehyun takes on a leading role in the suspenseful film ‘YOU WILL DIE IN 6 HOURS’, where Jaehyun plays Jun Woo, a mysterious figure who has the ability to predict someone’s death. This film has been released and is currently screening in Malaysia cinemas.
