Dress codes can be confusing at times because there are lots of terms you need to know and dress according to it to not look like the odd one out there. But when we hear the word “casual” as its dress code, it only confuses us more because the real question is, “how casual do we dress?”.
Not to worry, our clueless fashionista, we got the matter covered for you. In this topic, we are going to explain what casualwear actually means and how to wear them.
1. Meaning of casualwear
Basically, casualwear is when you are in your most relaxed outfit that is suited for everyday use. It is the clothes you wear everywhere you go be it to the mall, to have a drink with some friends, on a day date, and many more. Nothing of it looks formal as casualwear screams chill, fun, and relaxed.
2. Casualwear for men
Out of all the clothes you can wear casually, we think the best look to go for is a simple white t-shirt, crisp navy-blue jeans, and a clean white sneaker combination. It is simple and clean yet attractive enough to get people to check you out. A bonus accessory would be a pair of sunglasses for that added cool bad boy look. If that looks a little too simple, throw on a jacket on top of it and you are good to go. More casual wear for men here!
3. Casualwear for women
And as for the ladies, our favourite look would be a nice sundress which works especially well in this hot and humid Malaysian weather. Let your legs breathe a little while still dressing elegantly to a casual outing. If you are dressing modest, a fun jumpsuit is a good option with a colour-blocking hijab wrapped around your head.
4. Smart casual
However, smart casual means a whole different thing. This style is leaning more towards the formal side but still maintaining its casualness and is usually applied at offices during casual Fridays. For example, men can wear polo shirts with a straight pair of khakis while women can put on a neutral midi skirt or a pantsuit depending on your level of comfort.
